OK, another weekend spent at the QTH. This time I was alone even though SM2XJP with son showed up for a brief period on Sunday to keep me company for a little while. This weekend I mostly tried to finish up the run of cables outside but the rain made it a pain in the …. However I got it finished except the last two meters that I will need to cover up next weekend. I put down 4 pcs of RG-17, 2 pcs of 60-leaded cable plus a 110mm thick cable tube so we can pull through other cables, such as rotator cables etc in the future as things grow. The 2 pcs of 60-leaders should be enough for all the antenna switching though.
I also put up a light behind fake wall and a cabinet with a 19″ rack inside it. Next weekend I will try to start putting up new electricity wires because nothing is grounded since it’s an old house so I want to redo everything in the shack. I also hope that a few more arrive at the station so we can get atleast one vertical for 80M to test it and also cut the phasing lines etc.
Here are pictures from the weekend, I will upload movies soon too.
The kitchen is my work place
It’s nice with a treat after one has worked well
Cabinet put up with 19″ rack “bars” (thanks SM3WMU)
Fake wall “finished”
Temporary setup with my favorite rig of all time, it’s gotten too old though…
Preparing the 110mm thick cable pipe. The door that is open is the future switch room which now contains a lot of 7/8″ cable (thanks SM3WMU)
Most of the cables down in the ground…
Videos to come…
